Because universal electric motors (like the CV2A) experience a high inrush of current upon starting, you will need a generator with a peak rating of at least 4,000.Extension Cords: If you need to extend your reach, use a heavy-duty, 3-wire grounded extension cord. Do not exceed 50 to 100 feet with an extension cord, as it will cause a voltage drop that damages the motor.
